Friction

I'm feeling 'resistant' this week. I feel vulnerable in my Alexander Technique sessions and don't want to risk my coachs' disapproval. I'm procrastinating, avoiding homework for both voice sessions and acting class. I'm slogging through my physical workouts. And, I'm fighting a compulsion to over eat, especially in the late evenings. Bah, humbug.

Periods of resistance such as this seem to be coeval with periods of growth, for me. Necessary friction.

Yes, I've found that periods of friction lead to the most clarity about what I need to learn or decided to learn but forgot and here it is again, etc. In screenplay writing, that Bay, humbug in a character can be the whole pivot point to the film. As a character in your own film called life what's the transformational gem?

I've added you to Christyne's Riffs!
