In the coming week, I close up shop in Houston, then drive to Durant for my five-week gig with Oklahoma Shakes. After that, plans remain fluid, but I'm hopeful one of the contracts I've mentioned will come through. If not, no worries. I pursue other work and maybe, just maybe, get back to writing. The word count on "Mother" may only be "300," but that doesn't mean it's not been cooking away on a back burner.
"Mother" will be a long narrative work about the men I've known best.
