When Not to Look for Subtext

"That was very good,"

or

"Do you have 30 seconds of something else you'd like to do?"

or

"We appreciate you,"

or

"Thank you for coming in,"

or

"Are you available _______ to _______?"

or

"We'll know by Sunday,"

or

"I'm looking at you for________,"

or

"So you live in Philadelphia?"

doesn't mean,

"You're hired."

Only,

"we'd like to offer you the role of ______,"

means that.
